Nyxeus

Nyxeus is a speculative branding project that explores the formation of a product around its environment and material.

Nyxeus is a brand that's just as dreamy as its product. The DreamWeaver pillow is a sleep device that scans the user's brain waves and allows their dreams to be recorded and viewed with high-quality video and audio experience. It can capture visuals as the dreamer experiences them, even filling in the parts that the dreamer may remember as hazy or may not remember at all. The feed can then be uploaded to a device to be viewed.

Some early inspirations for the pillow packaging and designs.

The name Nyxeus was inspired by Greek mythology, “Nyx" comes from the goddess/personification of night time Nyx, and “eus” was taken from the latter half of Morpheus, the god of sleep who could shape and form dreams. These early logo iterations were mored directly inspired by these origins.

A continuation of logo variations where I started moving away from an icon based logo and instead moved towards a wordmark, while still incorporating a graphic element into the type.

Midlevel designs for the main design. I wanted a dreamy look that indicated sleep and serenity so I played around with noise gradients, cool colors, and speckle effects that were meant to allude to the night sky.

This was the last iteration of the main design until I arrived at the final. Similarly to the final design, this version utilizes the vertical noise gradient and star pattern, but in a busier way. Ultimately for the final, I chose to simplify it with more white space and the star pattern only bordering the sides and bottom so that it framed the logo and better expressed the feeling of calm.
